LEADERSHIP AT RH6 RUGBY HIGH SCHOOL SIXTH FORM Senior Student Leadership Team (SSLT) Joanna Sathyaseelan - Head Girl The quality of teaching at RH6 is different to any of the other schools I have been to. Every teacher goes above and beyond to make sure we understand, and they are always open to answering any questions we have. Outside of their subjects, I have felt that they genuinely care about our overall well-being and are constantly checking in on us. Yousef Alawi, Head Boy Leadership roles at RH6 are extensive, providing students with opportunities to develop their communication, team-working and organisation skills. From SSLT and peer listeners to the charity committee and FLO’s, RH6 combines community with leadership, nurturing an inclusive environment in which the sixth formers build their confidence to make decisions as young adults. EPQ RUGBY HIGH SCHOOL SIXTH FORM EPQ aims to inspire, enthuse, motivate and to allow you to develop or extend a variety of skills through the completion of a free choice project. This project allows you to pursue a theme/topic based either on a subject you are already studying, in an area of particular personal interest or provides the opportunity to complete something entirely new. You are given responsibility for managing all stages of your project in a specified time period. It will develop your skills and you are able to research a topic that you’re passionate about. Suchit Gurun For my EPQ I investigated micro plastic pollution within our oceans. The support I got was excellent with Miss Holland being just an email away, ready to answer any questions. Cristian Covaliuc I would fully recommend an EPQ, as you get the chance to research something really topical and develop your study skills – and you might even get reduced university grade offers! Rebecca Williams It’s all about flourishing and being good at what you want to be good at.

OUR PASTORAL SUPPORT Having been to Rugby High makes you stand out on a uni or job application because of all the opportunities, trips and talks it offers you. We want you to excel in your chosen subjects and to develop a range of skills that will help prepare you for the next stage in life. So many students come back to Rugby High School and tell us their stories and how the success all started here. Here are some testimonials from former students and parents. There is something truly special about the environment created by the staff and students – it is wholly supportive and caring, yet challenges you to be ambitious and be the best you can be. I carry this ethos in my professional life – I imagine I’d be in a very different place if I hadn’t had the privilege of attending this wonderful school. Helena Eccles - Chief of Staff, McKinsey & Company OUR LEGACY Your future self RUGBY HIGH SCHOOL SIXTH FORM Rugby High also helped me to become more confident in myself and my abilities. As a teenager I often doubted myself and didn’t believe I was any good at anything but Rugby High helped me to see my own potential. Amy Clement - Assistant Stage Manager, The Lion King I don’t think I realised this at the time, but Rugby High gifted me with the mindset of ‘I can do anything I set my mind to’ - something I am eternally grateful for. Rugby High also provided me with my all time best friends, who I know I will have in my life forever. Becky Morley - Strategy Manager, Ocado

Both my children have been so happy at Rugby High School. It’s a special place where not just strong academic achievement but a love of learning is fostered. RHS helped both my children to become confident young adults well prepared for life after school. The thing I liked about RHS was there didn’t seem much pressure to conform; difference and individuality was OK and not something to be ashamed of, but other things were valued and fostered too, like kindness and friendship. Yes – I’m an unashamed fan! Emma Tiller – Parent RUGBY HIGH SCHOOL SIXTH FORM Dr Catherine Alsworth BSc MSc DC Rugby High gave me the courage to know that I was capable of anything that I put my mind to. I grew up surrounded by strong and empowering females who all wanted to work hard and positively change the world around them. For that upbringing I am forever grateful.
