Sixth Form Snapshots - written by our students.  3rd Edition

Gold D of E

Once you get past the weight of your bag, the torrential rain and the blisters, you come to realise what an amazing experience Gold DofE is. It is a brilliant way to acquire new skills and make new friends. With the help of experienced instructors, you find yourself being able to climb mountains and cross distances you never thought you could. Most importantly, it's a great bonding experience which creates a sense of cameraderie in the team.

Sports Captains

Organising sports day, leading assemblies and motivating all of year 12 to get involved in sports are some of the jobs belonging to the Sports captains of Rugby High. The role of these two students is to represent their house and to be passionate and enthusiastic about all the different sporting events run throughout the school year. Frequent inter-form events including rounders, Christmas benchball and athletics are all organised and run by the allocated Sports Captains.

Next Steps Day

A great opportunity for us to learn a variety of valuable and useful skills for our future by attending sessions each period with different speakers from universities and businesses. Throughout the day we learnt how to apply  to UCAS, when our deadlines are, how to write a personal statement, interview techniques, how to find the right apprenticeship, and how to budget and manage your finances when at university.
