Thank you for taking an interest in who we are and what we do. 

Our Aim:
The aim of the PTA is to raise money in a fun and sociable way and to provide the school with extra funding to spend on equipment and resources to enhance your child’s educational experience.  In recent years we have raised funds to fund Operation Theatre Live, bought extra-curricular resources for Drama & English, and bought a new kiln for the Art Dept; just to name a few.

Every parent/carer that has a child at Rugby High School is a member of the PTA. Some parents/carers are more actively involved than others, but all help is always greatly appreciated by the committee members. 

Next PTA Meeting

The first PTA meeting of the new academic year will be held on Monday, 7th September 2026 at 6.30pm in the Sports Hall Classroom or online via Teams.

Next AGM

The RHS Parent Teacher Association (PTA) would like to invite you to its AGM on Tuesday 13th October 2026 at 6.30pm in the school hall.  

This will be followed by our usual committee meeting from 7.45 - 8.45pm and you will be very welcome to stay for this meeting as well.

Year 7 Parent and Daughter Tea

Year 7 parents and carers are invited to our annual parent and daughter tea hosted by the PTA.

This will be held in school on Thursday 24th September from 3.45pm till 4.45pm. Please come to reception and then head into the hall where you will be welcomed and offered refreshments. After a welcome talk, you will be able to tour the school with your daughter and hear more about school life.

Uniform Sale

The next PTA Uniform Sale date will be shared on this page once it has been announced. 

We hold School Uniform sales of outgrown, but not outworn, school uniform sales. They are an opportunity to make huge SAVINGS by buying good quality pre-used uniforms for your daughter and play your part in raising money for the school.

All proceeds go to the PTA which provides funding for academic and non-academic related activities for our students.

Update on PTA fundraising

The PTA fundraising in 2025-26 will be put to good use, funding extra-curricular activities for your daughters and sons at the school.  Thank you to all who participated in our events and bought drinks and snacks at our refreshment stalls.

Over the past year, the PTA organised and ran a variety of events to bring the school community together and raise funds:

• Parent-Daughter Tea (Yr7 & Yr12) – A relaxed, social gathering for parents and daughters across two year groups, offering a chance to connect outside of the usual school routine.
• Winter Fayre – Our flagship seasonal event, bringing together stalls, activities, and festive cheer for the whole school community.
• Uniform Sales – Held multiple times throughout the year, giving families an affordable way to buy and pass on school uniform.
• Battle of the Bands – A lively showcase of student musical talent, giving performers a platform and the school community a fun night out. PTA supported the event by providing the refreshments.
• Movie Night – PTA hosted a movie night for Yr7 students, screening a film chosen by student vote, with the PTA providing popcorn and drinks.

Thanks to the success of these events, the PTA was able to contribute the following amount back to the school this year:

£6,623.39

These funds go directly towards bids submitted by teachers and students, supporting activities and equipment that the school's core budget doesn't stretch to cover.

PTA Meetings

Meetings are friendly and informal and usually last for about an hour. Please join us and support our fundraising activities; the PTA exists to enrich the learning experiences of all our daughters and sons attending Rugby High School.

If you are a parent who can spare a few hours to help with fundraising, have a particular skill that you would be willing to ‘donate’ to the PTA or work for a company that would be able to match-fund our fundraising activities, please get in touch with us at rhspta@rugbyhighschool.co.uk.

The Committee:
The Committee is nominated and elected at the AGM at the beginning of each academic year.  As per the Constitution, the Committee consists of a Chairperson, Treasurer, Staff Member, Secretary, 200 Club Co-ordinator and a General Committee member.  All Committee Members are Trustees in the eyes of the Charity Commission. The committee meets 5 or 6 times a year, and we are joined by a member of staff to ensure a close relationship with the school. 

The PTA organises 2 or 3 events per year for both the pupils and families that make up our school community.  Our biggest event is the Winter Fayre, which takes place in November / December.
