For Students Joining Us in Year 7 Autumn 2024
Welcome to students joining us in September 2024
Congratulations!
We hope you are excited to be joining Rugby High School. We are delighted that you have chosen to join our school community and look forward to helping you develop as a creative and ambitious thinker. Our aim is that you will leave Rugby High as a resilient, heathy and successful learner who is prepared and excited for the future, whatever it may bring.
We appreciate the importance of a good transition to secondary school and we want to reassure and support you through this. Below you will find a timeline of key dates for ‘what happens next’ so you know what to expect over the coming months.
In June, we will visit you at your primary school and share our Welcome Booklet which contains lots of useful information. In the meantime, there is a link to our interactive map below and you can explore the website to get a taste of life at Rugby High. A big date in the calendar is Induction Day on Wednesday 10th July. We get to spend the day together and you start to find out about your new classmates, teachers and the school site.
Our top priority at Rugby High is that students, including you, feel happy and safe. We understand that you may have some worries about starting secondary school and this is perfectly natural but we will do our best to help you settle in. In your first week we ease you in gently with a mixture of lessons, icebreaker activities, well-being sessions and even a visiting theatre group. To help you feel more prepared for the transition and excited about the next stage in your education journey you and your family may find it helpful to look at the websites listed at the bottom of this page for ideas and advice.
Remember we are here to help you.
Best wishes
Emily French
